Toshiba Aircon Puchong

Friday, February 1st, 2008

Continuing my quest on the buying an aircon, I just found out that Toshiba Aircons have had inverter technology all along since 1981.

Out of energy saving reasons, Toshiba equipped air-conditioners with inverter technology already in 1981. Now this technology is used by the majority of air conditioner manufacturers all over the world. Toshiba´s technological head start in Inverter technology – with regard to efficiency and ultimate perfection - is still unmatched.

Conventional air conditioner compressors usually operate on constant speed. Only with inverter technology the compressor speed is controlled electronically. The compressor runs at high speed if high cooling / heating performance is required and in low speed once the temperature setpoint is reached. The result of this technology is a powerful unit which saves energy and is convenient in usage.

The inverter unit controls the compressor rotary speed by varying frequency or voltage. Generally the rotary speed of a motor / compressor is determined by the frequency of the power source. So in order to control the rotation speed, the frequency of the input voltage is changed by electronic control.

The Inverter air conditioner raises or lowers the temperature of the room by changing the compressor rotation speed. After the room is heated or cooled as desired, the Inverter gradually lowers the compressor rotation speed in order to save energy and to reduce temperature fluctuation in the room.

So with this turn of event, I may opt to buy a Toshiba instead of Hitachi, Panasonic or Daikin aircons. Stay tuned….

Panasonic CS-S10HKH (CU-S10HKH) 1.0HP aircon - Onking sucks

Monday, January 28th, 2008

I was the Puchong branch of Onking Store and I hate the staff there. They look so indifferent. Just coz they offer Bonuslink does not mean they can look like idiots. Anyway, I was trying to get a quote for the new Panasonic inverter aircon = CS-S10HKH (CU-S10HKH) ~ 1.0HP. Pricing at Onking is RM1299, installation is RM220. To move another aircon is RM135.

Onking
Panasonic CS-S10HKH (CU-S10HKH) 1.0HP aircon = RM1299,
Installation is RM220.
To move another aircon is RM135.

Another electrical shop next to Citibank Puchong
Panasonic CS-S10HKH (CU-S10HKH) 1.0HP aircon = RM1250,
Installation is RM190 (if I remember correctly)
To move another aircon == never asked.

Panasonic CS-S10HKH (CU-S10HKH) 1.0HP aircon price

Save up to 50% cut on power consumption for big saving *Compared to non inverter models

* Inverter Technology
* Advanced e-ion Air Purifiyng System with New Patrol Sensor
* Economical and Eco-Friendly

DC Inverter
A highly efficient DC motor uses magnetic force to operate the compressor. This dramatically reduces power consumption compared to conventional AC motors.

PAM + PWM Control
The Pulse Amplitude Moderation (PAM) control improves efficienct during high-speed compressor operation to provide more power. The Pulse Width Moderation (PWM) control improves efficiency during low-speed operation to save more energy.

Notes on Panasonic inverter aircon :

The new Panasonic Inverter needs special piping. The walls is thicker to withstand the high pressure of the new gas. Another thing is the new gas very expensive. Cost several hundreds to refill

Cheap Fluorescent tube Puchong

Monday, January 14th, 2008

I’ve just bought 2 Philips fluorescent tubes (2feet) and 2 Philips Fluorescent starters from a shop near Columbia Asia hospital for only RM10 in total. That’s cheap considering that 1 pc of Philips fluorescent tubes at Tesco costs RM7.99. Columbia Asia hospital is located at Puteri 7, in Bandar Puteri Puchong. The electrical shop is just next to Restoran Double Eight at Puteri 7, Puchong

Buying Tyre in Puchong via Treats2u

Thursday, October 4th, 2007

Treats2u is a online website that sells quite a lot of things and even offers 12 mth installment for tyre purchases. I went to the site and tried to buy Continental and Sime tyres for my wife’s Kelisa. I choosed the tyre I wanted and keyed in my postcode. Then the site showed 2 tyre shops in Puchong. Too bad they don’t sell Goodyear or Yokohama tyres as I prefer those brands.

Going to Giant Supermarket Bandar Puteri Puchong

Thursday, September 27th, 2007

I was just at Giant about 1 hour ago to do my grocery shopping. I had turned into OCBC from LDP side and wanted to turn into Citibank so that I could reach Giant. The road was pretty jam up and I decided to head up further to the traffic lights to make a U turn into Giant. Its getting pretty messy on that road since the flyovers are still under construction. The grass on the sideroads have been removed and I think they are busy widening the road too. I really pity those people who have to stand in the hot sun to catch the bus. I can’t wait for all the mess to settle down next year.

Pandan Bread

Thursday, November 16th, 2006

That day, I bought some pandan bread around 5pm at a shop behind Brothers (car shop) in Puchong. It was so nice, my wife still likes it. The shop that sells its is like a corner medicine cum shopping mart. Nearby a Kopitiam too. Can’t remember the Street name but will update later. Its a new bunch of shops separated from the area of shops where Brothers is located by a small road.

Update : The shop is located at Jalan Kenari 18. Here are the photos I took on 7 Oct 2007

Big queue at Giant Puchong

Thursday, August 31st, 2006

What a lousy way to start the morning. Its National Day in Malaysia. Happy 49th Birthday to Malaysia. And how did I spend the morning ? I wasted 35 minutes queing up to pay for my 2 items (a laundry mat and prunes) at the Express Counter over at Giant Hypermarket, Bandar Puteri Puchong because of some mismanagement. I hope this comes out first page in the Star tomorrow just to give the Giant management a reminder that people don’t like queues…..

The problem why the queue was slow at Giant today is because they are having a promotion on certain items like Pampers and Darlie toothpaste. A lot of people just came to buy those items and somehow the POS system was not updated with the correct prices. They had 1 supervisor going around my 4 express counters trying to change the prices. Now that’s why the queue was longer than that in the Sunway toll !!!!! Crap!

The problem was only resolved when the supervisor rebooted the POS system. Darn. He should have done it earlier. I could see blood oozing out from his sweat as a lot of people were fuming over the long queue. I will NEVER ever goto Giant again on public holidays. I will visit either Tesco or Carrefour…..Man….The management at Giant has better do something about it……Dairy Farm people, are you hearing this ???
