Senior Systems Engineer - MCSE, Confidential (Long Island, NY)
Immediate Fulltime position with one of our premier clients in Long Island, NY.
Salary Range - $100k - $110k (DOE)
The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, configuration, installation, integration and troubleshooting of Windows Active Directory and MS Exchange implementation projects for our external clients. This position involves significant customer interaction and requires strong organizational, communication, leadership, and client relationship skills.
Responsibilities include:
• Performing detailed client site surveys and providing documentation of existing environment
• Participate in pre-sales activities and solution development (assist with analyzing client needs / technical requirements, recommending design/solution options, assist in the preparation of presentations, proposals, and defining scope of work)
• Hands on configuration and implementation of proposed solution(s)
• Troubleshooting and resolving problems/issues that arise • Create “leave-behind” documentation of solution specifics for client use
• Provide formal and informal training to client contact as needed
Additionally, responsibilities include:
• Staying abreast of current technologies through all available resources including Internet, trade publications, and/or user groups/associations.
• Mentor the development of ASEs, technicians and installers.
A successful individual will need to have the following technical skills and experiences, skills and/or characteristics:
• 6+ years experience delivering technical solutions (from pre-sales through implementation) and/or support to external clients
• MCSE Windows 2003 certified with extensive experience with Microsoft products: Windows XP, 2003 Standard and Enterprise Server, Exchange 2003, MS Outlook, ISA 2004, IIS, SQL Server and strong Networking experience working with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP and WINS.
• Solid understanding of Active Directory, DNS, group policies, Global Catalogs, Directory Replication and security for design and deployment in heterogeneous and homogenous environments.
• Sound understanding of technical concepts across a range of technologies including Desktop software, Internet Browser software, Microsoft BackOffice applications, LAN, WAN and communication networks.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot Microsoft networking and server issues using appropriate monitoring and diagnostic tools.
• Solid understanding of Microsoft’s Best Practices Policies
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Customer-oriented and maintains an ethical and professional relationship with clients
• Strong organizational skills, superior attention to detail and quality awareness, and professional demeanor
• Multi-tasking and time management skills, strength at setting priorities, a problem solver and able to self-manage and self-motivate

Although not requirements, other desirable attributes include:
• Experience with storage hardware to include SAN and NAS with the configuration of switching fabrics such as fiber channel and iSCSI.
• Experience with providing high availability solutions for disaster recovery, contiguous planning and clustering of servers
• Server consolidation knowledge with the use of virtual software.
• Proficient in operating systems other than Microsoft such as Unix, LINUX and Novell.
• Microsoft Security and/ or Messaging certifications for MCSE 2003.
• Thin and Fat client knowledge using the Citrix product suite.
• Programming Languages for scripting and process automation tasks.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
This position is based in Hauppauge, Long Island and will require daily travel to the five boroughs of New York City and Nassau and Suffolk counties.

Manager, Revenue Accounting , Harmonic Inc (Sunnyvale California)
Manager, Revenue Accounting is an internal business partner to Sales. You and others from the revenue accounting team will join with Legal to address revenue recognition transactions and issues.
You will be asked to analyze and make recommendations to improve the revenue recognition process within the 1st 90 days. Your thorough understanding of the solution sales transaction process which includes; hardware, software systems implementation, and service contracts combined with revenue accounting practices are needed to implement changes that track to the bottom line.
This highly visible role works closely with the CFO on quarterly end, meets regularly with the marketing team to assist in accurate forecasting, and actively engages with Sales and Technical Services team to structure revenue recognition milestones.
Profile:
This position will report directly to the Controller - Revenue and Treasury and be responsible for pre and post-sales support for revenue recognition. This is a senior position with responsibility for determining and assisting in the revenue recognition process. This position will also take a leading role in driving improvements and management of systems-based accounting processes and procedures.
Job responsibilities:
• Expert level understanding and knowledge of general accounting concepts and requirements, in particular, software revenue recognition utilizing SAB 104, SOP 81-1, SOP 97-2 and EITF 00-21 and EITF 03-5.
• Offer keen eye for document review, and possesses high level skill advocating accounting requirements in complex business dynamics.
• Your team will support management with the establishment and alignment of global accounting policies and procedures and act in a business advocacy role with Sales, Legal, Finance and the Order Administration Group
• Perform or review monthly and quarterly reconciliations and financial analyses of revenue and related costs.
• Evaluate revenue reporting requirements and provide support for development of new reports to forecast and analyze revenue transactions.
• Provide support for Sarbanes-Oxley, SEC reporting and other departmental requirements, as needed.
