For more than a decade, IOI Properties have been synonymous with the growing township of Puchong. Today we look at their flagship township of Bandar Puteri where you can find the IntelliCity business centre, Giant hypermarket, a bustling commercial centre, and thousands of homes for the masses.

This will be an overview look at the WHOLE Bandar Puteri, not the usual individual home review you are used to. This will kick-off a series of postings, tomorrow onwards we will be reviewing a few of the recently launched phases within the development. There are more than 20 phases that have been launched over the years, and only a few pockets of land remain to be developed in Bandar Puteri.

Malaysia has Toll Hike

Wednesday, November 29th, 2006

Malaysia is having another toll hike. The Govt should not have promised so many things to the highway operators. Now the citizens have to foot the bill. But in the Govt’s defence, they said they saved millions ? That’s what I read in the papers last week. Better hope you get a big increment and bonus next year. Its not gonna be easy living in Malaysia. My pocket is feeling a big pinch now.

Some news on Malaysia

1. Expect 10 sen to RM1 rise in toll rates

Industry analysts suggest motorists be prepared for an increase of between 10 sen and RM1 in toll charges on some major highways.

The analysts, who spoke on condition of anonymity, agreed that the increase was no surprise, having been stated on the concession agreements.

According to yesterday’s front-page report, toll charges will be increased next year on the Guthrie Corridor Expressway, Karak Highway, Grand Saga Cheras-Kajang Highway, Lebuhraya Damansara Puchong (LDP) and the Kesas Shah Alam Highway, as the Government cannot afford the estimated RM2bil compensation.

2. Malaysia bites back and industriously trades the insults

And as if to underscore my points about waste, on the day that my column was published, an assistant minister told the Malaysian Parliament that Malaysia’s first astronaut to be sent into space next year aboard a Russian space mission will be tasked to play batu seremban, a traditional Malay children’s game played with pebbles, will do some batik painting and will make teh tarik, a type of Malaysian milky tea, all to see how these things can be done without gravity.

The day before, the Government announced that a new RM400 million ($A142 million) palace will be built for Malaysia’s king, a position that is almost entirely ceremonial. And the week before a groundbreaking ceremony was held for a second bridge between Penang and the Malaysian peninsular costing RM3 billion, a bridge that many consider unnecessary.

PLASTIC WATER BOTTLE BELOW OR EQUAL TO 5

Thursday, November 23rd, 2006

Here’s an email that I got today. A dentist’s wife had tumor in her uterus and needed to remove it.

Her doctor told them the possible cause of his wife’s tumor is by some chemical which only affecting women. The chemical mainly find in plastic water bottle. It is not the water that affecting you but the chemical releasing from the bottle. You must check on the bottom of the bottle there is a triangle sign and there will be a number on it.

Make sure the number is higher than or equal to 5. Then this bottle is save to use. Those with numbers under 5, it will release the chemical. For most bottle water, the number is 1. Remember to check and stop reusing those bottles. Those below 5, only use once, should not be reused….

Traffic summonses have been issued to family members and friends of the 17 underage Mat Rempit who attacked policemen on Sunday.

The motorcycle owners will have to fork out between RM300 and RM2,000 if found guilty of allowing underage riders to use their motorcycles.

Houston plastic surgeon and Laser Acne Treatment

Saturday, November 18th, 2006

Laser acne treatment has been around for a few years now, and it is quickly replacing more traditional forms of acne removal and prevention for Houston plastic surgeon. As antibiotics become increasingly ineffective due to overuse, more and more people are opting for this new technique. During laser resurfacing, a doctor holds a laser pen just above the acne or acne scar tissue and waves the concentrated beam of light back and forth, vaporizing only the unwanted tissue and creating a new surface for skin cell growth. Thus the term “laser resurfacing”. New collagen actually forms after laser treatment. (Collagen is a protein in the skin’s connective tissue that helps give the skin its texture.)

Although laser resurfacing is safe and painless in almost all cases, some post-procedural bruising and swelling are normal. In most cases, these side effects persist for seven to ten days. Wait until this passes before applying make-up.

Currently there are no federal restrictions on who can perform laser resurfacing; regulations only affect the laser manufacturers themselves. There are many types of lasers for many different purposes, so be sure to use a dermatologist or plastic surgeon. Be sure to ask where your doctor was trained to use the laser equipment and whether your doctor rents or owns his or her laser equipment. Ask to see before and after pictures of the doctor’s cases, and find out how many different types of lasers the doctor owns and how often each piece of equipment is used.

Many doctors feel that laser resurfacing isn’t meant for dark skin because it alters the color of skin too dramatically and unpredictably. Others believe that in the hands of a very experienced surgeon, people with darker skin tones can benefit.

Lasers acne treatment is much more invasive than non-ablative lasers. They remove by erosion, melting, evaporation, or vaporization. Ablative lasers are not recommended for use on darker skin colors.

Laser resurfacing costs upwards of $2,500 for a full face, versus $1,000 for other types of scar and acne removal. Consult with an experienced aesthetic dermatologist and laser surgeon to determine what it best for you.

Hair restoration

Saturday, November 18th, 2006

The recent development of improved hair transplant techniques ensures that patients can now benefit from pain-free surgery.

Unlike the older techniques that could be painful and cause unsightly scarring, the Woods Technique of Follicular Relocation is minimally invasive, painless and leads to hair restoration that looks and feels completely natural.

Under this technique physicians transplant only the hair follicle and not the excess tissue that is common with other transplant techniques. This means that the transplant site only has to nourish the essential follicles resulting in a higher take rate and a lower risk of fallout caused by localized shock.

The creators of the technique have been perfecting it in Australia since 1989 during which time more than 2000 procedures have been performed with a high success rate. Interestingly, Drs Woods and Woods-Campbell have made the discovery that transplanted body hair can grow up to three times its length and assume the characteristics and qualities of scalp hair. This means that patients who have damaged or depleted donor areas can now benefit from the technique.

The good news for American patients is that the technique is now being introduced to the US with a training facility for doctors established at UCLA.

You can find out more about these techniques by visiting the sites listed below.

Richard Mitchell is the creator of the www.myhairlossadvisor.com website that provides information and guidance to those suffering from premature hair loss. To find out more about this technique please visit The Woods Technique

Liposuction surgery

Thursday, November 16th, 2006

According to the medical dictionary of Medline Plus, liposuction is the removal of excess body fat by suction with specialized surgical equipments, typically performed by a plastic surgeon.

With the removal of excess body fat, the body appearance improves and evens out distorted body parts. Breasts, buttocks, abdomen, and the face area are some of the most popular body parts that undergo liposuction surgery.

Foremost reason why people resort to liposuction is for cosmetic reasons. They want to eradicate “love handles”, unsightly fat bulges, an abnormal chin line, etc.
